Pros

Lots of Overtime opportunities Lots of going out on the corporate card

Cons

Oh god, where do I begin... There was so much work that 10-11 hour days are a must if you want to stay on top of your work, and even then you may still be behind. Constantly understaffed, and management does NOT care Absolutely no compassion for workers and their home lives Management plays clear favorites The company does not value CSA's and they show it every day If you are not a recruiter, you may as well be invisible They will fire you for literally anything (i.e. if you're five minutes late to work) The whole office is stuck in high school (there are cliques, round the clock rumor mills, and everyone sleeps with everyone) They scam recent college grads into taking a job with them without telling them about the incredibly low pay, long hours, and abysmal benefits Someone quits on a daily basis Promotions are only given based on favoritism, not merit Nothing stays private between you and HR (don't even try to complain to HR, it will spread throughout the office like wildfire) They don't properly vet their new hires (i have had managers who were blatantly racist, sexist, xenophobic...pretty much all the phobics) And that's, not even the beginning! I can literally write a whole book about why this is an absolutely terrible company to work for, if you get an offer, PLEASE just make sure you are willing to sell your soul for them because that's what they expect

Pros

There are pros to working at Aerotek....once you get into sales that is. Once you are there you get 38K/year or 34K/year if promoted in your first year and you get a $350/month car allowance (must be a 4 door) and a $100/month cell phone allowance. You get to expense gas used in trips to see clients or scout your territory as well as lunches. You will have 2 recruiters who are a part of your triangle that you will meet with every morning to discuss goals for the day as it pertains to the positions you have brought in for them to work on. If you sell well and fill positions you can make 6 figures and get stock incentives but it's easier said than done as no one in my office hit the stock incentives for the year I was there. Weekly pay checks are nice as well and make it easy to budget. Cons might scare you off but it's the honest truth. If you have a ridiculous work ethic and are willing to slave away for a couple years you can have a successful career at Aerotek making great money.

Cons

Well first off after your 3 month training period you will get a pay decrease to 33K/year which after taxes comes to about $440/week which comes out to about $88/day which if you don't know is awful...you can make that much or more working at Home Depot or Walmart. Next, management will be up your backside every day to do more and to help the sales people do their job. You have to call on people and dig for information and leads while they are at work (the majority of them). Oh and did I mention you will work from 7:30 - 6 every day if not later depending on the workload for that day. You break that down and you are making a little over $8/hour. They will try and sell you on their commission structure but let me break this down to you, they don't pay you a dime for your first $3k/week in spread....that's 150/k plus a year that they get that you see non of! Also, the commission is awful till you hit astronomical spread. When you get to 10k/week in spread you get $290 a week before tax added to your paycheck....that is over half a million to the company and you get 290/week pre tax...that is awful. Oh also the benefits are terrible and 401k match is next to nothing. My advice is proceed with caution.

Pros

This review of Aerotek is solely based as a former internal employee. The company is big on hiring new grads, if you have a bachelor’s degree and want experience in Recruitment/Sales/Entry-level Human Resources then Aerotek is the place for you. The advertised 50+k a year salary is only after you achieve the sales threshold, which they say will take 4-6 months; however, it takes much longer (~6 months-1.5 years). During that time, you are hourly at $12.25/hr. which is barely enough to support yourself. If you can last that 4-6 months at $12.25/hr. once you achieve 50K, it’s still lower than market value of a full-cycle Recruiter. Aside from pay, the workload is high-volume right from the beginning, expect to produce enough results to work a 7:30AM-5:30PM, non-negotiable schedule– which causes a lot of employees to leave the company. As well, the company is a staffing agency so their business is contingent on filling business for other companies which can be unfulfilling to present people with as low as 2 month contracts in a sea of other agencies. As mentioned above, this is a place that enables you to put in your time to achieve that ‘HR/Sales/Administrative/Recruiting’ experience to move onto something else. There’s money in this company but it’s only available to the people who has the means, endurance, and ability to go through the gutter: low-pay training period until sales threshold, then contest – which is a 10K bonus and a trip to Cancun every year. Please do not expect promotions in this company, as mentioned the rich in the company have clawed their way to the top and do not intend to be replaced. Aerotek’s values are not represented by their core values, which are listed on the walls but by the common bond that everyone is there to make something of themselves to whatever that may be.
