Pros

- a LOT of overtime - unique experience - helping people in need - coworkers are okay depending on how your team is - when you get to clean a crime scene, it's honestly pretty cool - decent for getting experience in the field of forensics

Cons

- the overtime is forced depending on how big your team is - difficult manual labor - definitely ripping off people in need. every time, they're overcharged. trust me. - low low low low pay. here's my breakdown. Job time: $20/hr Drive time: $15/hr Being on the clock but doing nothing: $10/hr And sure, 20 an hour sounds fine. but you're cleaning up not just blood, but feces, urine, skin, brain matter, guts, and one time i found an entire unattached scalp. Not only that but it's HARD physical labor! sometimes you won't have access to a bathroom for hours at a time. You will also be cleaning up literal pounds of dead flies and live maggots. true, it's part of the job, but it's really heavy work with almost no pay. Long story short, I did the math, and my total salary in a year was $22,000. - no upward mobility unless you really bug them about it

Hi there, While we regret to hear the job wasn't a fit for you, we do not make it a secret that the work itself is hard both physically and even emotionally at times. Helping people move past violent tragedies in the home is a grisly, but necessary, business — and it's a process we take on so family members don't have to. When cleaning up after a homicide, suicide, or other accident, it's no secret that bodily fluids, and often more, will be involved. We do not "rip off" people in need. As you are aware, we provide a non-obligatory, free cost estimate of each job before we ever get started. Additionally, most home insurance policies cover the entirety of our costs; and we even work with the insurance company on the homeowner's behalf so they can do what matters most: grieving the loss of their loved one. We always value constructive criticism, so if you'd be willing to share more about your experience, we always have open minds. Get in touch if you'd like!

Pros

If you run the shop you will hardly ever have to see your boss

Cons

No work/ life balance. All the pressure of a sales position without the commission or bonus. They will lie to you in your interview. You will not make anywhere near the amount they promise. Watch your pay cause they are not above scamming you out of any pay they think they can get away with.

Pros

No Time Off Laughable Pay Laughable Morals Smells Like Roses

Cons

We literally cleaned up teenagers who took their own life with a firearm, cleaned remains from under cargo trains, and every other nasty thing you could imagine. Imagine cleaning up a 15 year old and if you ask for just a day or two off to clear your mind your told to either use the companies therapy service or go back to work. Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day etc. They charge $200+ an hour for a technician getting paid $20 an hour. This technician has zero certifications and the equipment he is using is also billed in the invoice. Oh yea $6 per pair of latex/nitrile gloves haha. They shamelessly stuff their pockets and claim that if you take any time off you're "not thinking of the families". Then they'll post a PC response to this in the form of an advertisement. There's no trade secrets here. These prices are clearly listed in the invoices for customers and pay rates are listed in job postings.
