Pros

There are a lot of good people and everyone in general has been good to work with.

Cons

New CEO is gutting the company, it used to be a great company. We are all individually taking in more work every year, there has been 3 major layoffs recently. Each about 3% of the workforce. Budget cuts are taken wherever possible, it has been a train wreck figuring out how to keep the same deadlines with less people. There are a lot of old timers as well and whenever they “retire” they look to see if it’s a position that needs filling or if it’s something we can absorb.

Pros

Agilent used to be a caring company with high integrity. Could we still get back to that culture. I don't know.

Cons

The Enterprise Communications department is super toxic. People overwhelmed and leaving all of the time. Long time people getting fired, short term people leaving to "focus on family". If you want to be respected at work, have work life balance, and not lose your mind working for toxic power-hungry paranoid boss, then come work for Agilent comms. Otherwise avoid.

Pros

There are a lot of talented employees. The individual contributors around the globe have a lot of skill and potential.

Cons

The company leadership has eroded the faith and engagement of so many employees. There are also bad lower managers who need coaching or new roles. The company is hyper-focused on quarterly financial performance for stockholders. Rather than utilize the skill and knowledge of their workforce to fix the burdensome business process they do layoffs (3 years in a row) thinking they can save money and processes will improve. If you just want a paycheck and can block out the b.s., then join Agilent. Many employees are shopping their resumes around.
