Pros

A large enough company that can offer growth and advancement without sacrificing precious time while waiting.

Cons

Every company has cons. It is how that company works through the problems that gives the company a better reputation for taking care of its employees. AMC does just that.

Pros

In theory, you should get a lot of days off. The benefits are decent as well. A lot of expectation and rightfully so when it comes to safety. Fellow communications specialists will also go to great lengths in helping new people learn the ins and outs of the job.

Cons

Being on call for most of your days off and expecting to get called in for most of them. Constant turnover means you're always going to be filling in, and there's little incentive or initiative for anyone to get creative in regards to working around it. In addition, there's a lot of extra time you're expected to commit to the job outside of work, creating a negative work/life balance. Pay is okay but not special. 12 hour days are difficult. No shift differential for working overnights.
