Cons
Out of touch management, some Area Managers micro manage their bases to death, do not handle personnel issues brought to them unless written to HR because turn over cost millions to company. Having Base Supervisors with little to no experience brings bases morale down, equipment and medications frequently out of date or missing from stock and causes drama when complaints are brought to Area Manager. Merit increases are really cost of living adjustments are below cost of living. Salary imbalances when no experience staff brought on $10/hr over employees with 10 years experience. Some experienced Nurses making $24/hr. Medics making $20-45/hr. Rotated schedules quarterly in some places, total disruption of life outside of work, you could literally work every holiday with rotations and several shifts while changing schedules instead of your normal rotation. Policy of going to bedside when you know you can not transport the patient, either for weight/girth, etc. This policy was enacted to prevent competition from getting the flight, not for patient care. AMC believes that the staff need our clinical help even if we cannot transport. This only delays transport and if customers knew it was a revenue catcher policy they wouldn't appreciate it.
