      Airgas West Division - no support, no plan, and no promise for career growth in Human Resources.

      Pros

      Office supplies are readily available - it's amazing that they spend so much $$$ on pens and staplers but when it comes time for raises they have alligator arms.

      Cons

      No support and no leadership in the human resources department in Long Beach - matter of fact there is no leadership at all here. Questions and suggestions go unanswered for weeks before getting shot down. The finance group here equally smells and lacks continuity and direction. This industry is old and stogie this no innovation and managers who are resistant to change and improvements. Their CS2 (customer service) rollout and training was a joke and continues to be ignored actions the board - they as rude to each other internally as they are to the customers.

      Pros

      Market leader. Willing to give you all the tools you need to get the job done. Good product line. Great ESOP

      Cons

      Pay could be better. Benefits are very expensive. Not willing to pay higher performers. You goals are raised a percentage of your previous years sales. So underperformers with smaller territories do not need to work near as hard to break even.

      Pros

      it comes off as a outbound sales calls but they are customers that did business with us before. Its maybe 5% true cold calling. They also say its a call center . It is a call center but not where they monitor your time away. As long as calls an minutes are obtained legitimately . You can be successful,.

      Cons

      If you move within the company from sales. expect lateral pay. Once you are in sales lb there is no advancement opportunities
