Pros

Akamai has a great support system, challeging work culture and well defined roles and responsibilities. Its a fun place to work with unlimited potential for growth.

Cons

Limited roles for career progression and very high work pressure. Somtimes comes out as a nible but yet rigid system for any change.

Pros

Akamai is still the biggest name in the CDN space, and is the one to beat without a doubt. It continues to grow its platform and has begun to take the need for innovation more seriously. If you work in the right teams, you can get exposed to some very interesting projects.

Cons

Despite finally starting *think* about innovation, the company itself very much feels stagnant. Leading talent continues to leech away, and even the most recent President of the company only stuck it out a year. The CDN market will continue to commoditize, and Akamai does not appear to be focusing hard enough on high growth markets or branching out into new businesses. From recent "product" launches, it is also clear that PM and Eng are very broken. Akamai does not know how to build a user friendly offering. I know of very few people at Akamai that really like their jobs. It seems to be more of a company of people that are just doing it for the money. That can be okay for some, but does not encourage me.
