Pros

Remote-first — good for WLB Interesting problems — Akamai's CDN is a big deal Good benefits — Life insurance, flexible plan options, FSA, etc

Cons

Remote-first — bad due to social isolation and timezone chaos Infuriating problems — corporate decision-making on tooling moves like molasses and frustrates devs constantly Firedrill mindset — no matter your role, you WILL be pulled off of your "normal job" to respond to escalations and incidents; ymmv whether you are still expected to juggle your "normal job" with the incident response. Depends on project leadership. Basic respect — I get misgendered a lot. Yearly raises do not keep up with inflation; promotions are rare.
