Pros
Working for Children's on the nursing floors was a great experience. As a nurse working with children and seeing how they can recover from things you'd never think possible. It gives you an amazing opportunity to really use all aspects of your nursing training plus there are many opportunities to continue learning.
Cons
After working on the floor I took an out patient position in the NDSC. I have never worked in a more corrupt our poisonous setting. Management was negative and disrespectful to nurses and aides. They were condescending and abusive commonly using intimidation and threats as a way to bully nurses into cutting corners. When upper management was made aware little too nothing was done and retaliation was swift and fierce.
