Pros

Loved working with the kiddos

Cons

Akron childrens provides wonderful care for patients, but is a horrible place to work. I was made fun of openly by employees for being a Christian. HR didn’t seem to think this was any issue.

To ensure diversity of thought and experience, IT attempts to provide a balance between internal and external hiring. A blend of internal and external hires allows us to create greater productivity, generate new and innovative solutions based on industry experience. We do and will continue to provide internal qualified applicants within its own IT division opportunities. At the same time, we also engage in external recruitment. We screen both internal and external applicants in the same way. The end result will always focus on hiring the most qualified candidate, regardless of whether they are internal or external to ACH. Based upon this feedback, we looked at ISD hiring practices over the last 15 months. We had a total of 74 positions filled, with 52 positions filled by internal hires and/or promotions and 22 filled with external hires. This means 70% of IT jobs were filled internally and 30% were filled externally. We are proud of these results as they demonstrate a commitment to providing opportunities to current employees.

Too much drama

Pros

Knowing you are providing a healthy, nutritious meal as an essential part of helping kids recover from injury or illness.

Cons

There is so much drama in the kitchen! Everyone is in each other’s business, and a blatant amount of favoritism to certain employees.
