Pros
The pay is good. Many positions are union(how helpful they are, IDK). For me, location was a big plus.
Cons
Inept management. Not just in my department. Talking to techs, nurses, even doctors, it became clear that there is not a deep enough labor pool to keep the hospital staffed. So they rely on the employees they do have to work overtime. They called me almost every day on my days off. Bottom level managers need to do their jobs better. Administration and management rely too heavily on the front line workers to make up for their ineptitude/corruption. I've never missed so many breaks and meals in my working career as I did here. (That's wage theft and it's illegal) There's too much to do each shift so I had to cheat on things like infection control protocol just to accomplish all my tasks.
