      The mission of this safety-net hospital group to serve its culturally diverse community and the dedication of its healthcare workers and supporting operational team

      Cons

      Haphazard leadership, with frequent executive turnover leading to shifting vision, goals and priorities. Ineffective governance by a disengaged Board of Directors.

      Wonderful patients; terrible management

      Pros

      The experience you will get in this level 1 trauma center is invaluable. The patients are challenging but the work is rewarding.

      Cons

      Staffing is short. Equipment is hard to come by when needed. Management is inconsistent and largely incompetent. AHS seems incapable of recruiting or keeping good managers. The managers they do recruit operate on the basis of fear and intimidation. Administration seems just fine with that model of operation.
