      An Overall Rewarding Experience at an Urban Medical Facility

      Pros

      This is a good place to get experience. The patient population is challenging and resources are limited. It was very rewarding to meet and work with persons from across the globe and from all walks of life. Historically the ACMC has positioned itself to treat and care for the indigent and for those with out the ability to pay; thus for persons that by principle believe healthcare is a right and not a privilege they can feel rewarded and purposeful in helping society's most vulnerable.

      Cons

      Entrenched bureaucracy, unmotivated and less than qualified persons working in management. Lack of vision that is tenable by persons in leadership positions.

      Pros

      Location to serve the underserved.

      Cons

      The director hired her kids and neighbors and gave them preferential treatment. Some employees, especially temps and clerical, were retaliated against or let go with no just reason while the friends and family members were give absurd pay raises and titles they didn't have the education to uphold.
