Turnover is unreal for a reason.
Believe it or not, my review headline is stenciled on the wall. Need I say more? It’s difficult to know whether to laugh hysterically or cry about how unprofessional and just plain horrible this management is. A step beyond the stencil, is an open and direct threat to fire anyone on the spot who says anything negative about the management. THIS is how they think they will effectively address their turnover problem. (!)
Employees work 12-13 hour days routinely. Not only do you work long hours but you are criticized for not being efficient and getting 12 hours worth of work done in 8 hours. People in this industry often work long hours so that itself is not unusual, but motivation is destroyed when you are being micromanaged to a level that comes close to crossing the line into harassment. Relatively young management has no concept of the value and efficiency gained by empowering and trusting their employees. Overly harsh criticism (bullying) of even top performers seems to be used as method of control. They do not seek to understand and remove barriers in their employees way ( back to the stencil on the wall, lol). More often they ridicule the employee for mentioning the barrier. Inefficient systems go unaddressed for years. Bottom line, prepare yourself and don’t expect much in the way of generosity, reciprocity, and fairness in your interactions with them!!!
