Pros

Have some great reps and district managers, but higher than that……

Cons

The only vision care company who has some type of restructure and or layoff every year or two. I would be ad used that top management (regional director and above) does not care about people that work here or of the accounts. They are completely focused on their own opportunities!

Pros

Great benefits and workplace flexibility.

Cons

My boss is abusive and demeaning. He has worked for the company for awhile and people know how he is, but nobody does anything about him. He ran off his last assistant. I'm sure some departments are great, BUT I'm not the only employee who thinks that the corporate culture is very negative.

Pros

Pro: Good benefit package, each year’s Christmas time the company shut down a week for maintenance so most of the employees get a additional 7 days vacation.

Cons

Cons: Very political. You might encounter the most phony and vicious boss on earth. Alcon promote people depends who you know, not depends on your qualification. In my three years with Alcon, I have three different boss. The last one has way less qualification than I do, and when that person become my boss, the first thing my exboss to do is to force me to leave so my qualification won’t be a threat to that person. I report to HR that I was inappropriately evaluated on my performance, but then the nightmare begin. Alcon highly promote their code of conduct and no retaliation policy, which is joke. My ex boss in Alcon, intentionally choose the last day before the Christmas holiday break, to give me a 90 days notice performance improvement plan. There is no one working in the following 10 days before New Year. But obviously my ex boss in Alcon thought the PIP was so important and cannot wait one more day. So yes, on the last day before the Christmas break, I received this wonderful news. So you can imagine how my Christmas holiday went, absolutely the BEST Christmas holiday EVER. Not only that, to make sure I have enough traumatic memories, my exboss in Alcon intentionally inquired my home address and mailed me a greeting card. On the card, my exboss in Alcon handwrote “WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A HAPPY HOLIDAY”. I guess all these behaviors are within the code of conduct, and you really cannot say sending a holiday greeting card is a retaliation. But this is truly the most evil, vicious behavior I ever seen. Now I looked back, I still don’t think I can repeat this type of behavior to anyone, not even my exboss in Alcon. But maybe it is because I am a Christian. BTW, if anyone want a real life story for movie Bad Boss 3, feel free to copy this. I forfeit my copy rights. I am happy that I finally left the toxic environment I was in. My current job is with a higher title, better pay and less politics. Most importantly, I no longer need to hear my exboss in Alcon bragging having more than a thousand pair of shoes in the house and how beautiful that person’s toes are.
