      Pros

      Good benefits being under Novartis!

      Cons

      No work and family balance. No recognition for hard work and loyalty towards the company. Management and HR are closely intertwined with one another. Poor management. It's not what you know, it's who you know. Too much favoritism and NO ROOM for advancement. A very bad work environment. Supervisors and Lead Technicians doesn't even have a four year degree. That in a nutshell should tell you something about the poor leadership in the company. No confidentiality within the organization. Supervisors discloses information with subordinates.

      Pros

      Great people. Committed to the mission of meeting or exceeding eye care needs. Many dedicated people passionate about what they do. Above average benefits program.

      Cons

      Restructuring and realignment resulting from the merger with Novartis (and becoming the eye care division) has displaced many people and put the workforce under stress regarding uncertainty of their career path.

      Very good benefit, competitive salary, people in general are quite reasonable and understanding of the need for taking care of family. Product serves improving peoople's daily life, very interesting topics to think about.

      Cons

      Very complicated structure in the organization takes a lot of head count for the company but not enough people doing the actual work to improve the product and innovation of the technologies. A lot of people working with the company for a long time prevent exploring new method and ideas. I should say it is difficult to bring new ideas. Senior people are also not very open of sharing details about the work. It is not a pleasant place to fit in so it's difficult to feel connected with the company.
