Bad impression after 2 years

Pros

Good salary, paternity leave from the 1st day, good mission, a lot of smart people

Cons

CEO makes an impression that we all are the family. Don't be fooled, you are not. Middle and upper management is hired just because they are ex-FAANG but they even don't try to pretend that they care about Aledade. But everybody prays on them just because they worked at Facebook or similar. This aura of prestige can lead to overlooking their actual contributions to the company's well-being. They hired a lot of QA in 2022 without planning and then laid off all of them. Good luck with your testing, guys, waiting for you to have problems.

Pros

I started as a contractor for about 6 months, then hired on permanently. The mission was clear at first and really felt like I was helping patients improve their well-being. Growth and change is inevitable when you're working in a startup environment. It can be overwhelming, but if you have a great team with good leadership then the experience will balance itself out.

Cons

I was going to give this place a one star rating. The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because I had a great experience in the beginning. My experience went downhill when my department switched from one side of the business to their sister company. My department was lied to when the question was asked about it changing into a "call center". We were first told that it wasn't, then months later we were told it was changing into a "call center". The management team over my department was quite incompetent. I've never been told that in certain instances I would have to "manage the manager", that is absolutely unacceptable, I'm sorry. Then I questioned their business tactics when they opened up the supervisor positions for my dept. They overlooked the entire dept. to hire people outside of the company when there were people on the team who were well qualified to step into those positions. There were too many changes going on at one time. No method to the madness, just plain madness. There would major changes that would be communicated through slack and email instead having official meetings, this caused a lot of confusion with the staff.

A company that actually cares about its employees

Pros

No meetings between 8 and 10 EST (to allow heads down time and to be cognizant of west coast folks), meetings start on :05 to allow for decompression between meetings, incredibly mission focused - doctors and patients come first, very data literate organization - when available data drives decisions, paid volunteer days, lots of company holidays, all staff get stock options.

Cons

Growing very quickly so there is constant change. Can be good or bad depending on personal preference.
