      Great Mission but it's all up to the Department You Work in.

      Pros

      Great Institute but be careful on the department that you join. The department that I was hired into was way too fast of a pace. Benefits are great.

      Cons

      While other employees in departments had breathing space, time to attend institute related seminars, and contribute to work groups (environmental club, disability club, etc) my team couldn't catch a break. I had an understanding supervisor and great teammates but the department and job position was fundamentaly flawed.

      Hit or miss manager by chance

      Team environment; great Science; cutting edge techinology.

      Cons

      Bureaucracy everywhere. Managers are hit and miss. Some “‘managers” clearly lacks management skills and use people only for their personal advancement. All words no action. Not taking practical steps that actually are benefiting staff. Paying on the low end of industry standard while gaslighting people saying they are here for the value and science. If that’s case then maybe cut down the bureaucracy. Internal competition is sometimes ridiculous.

      Change Should be Good

      Cutting edge science and great mission. Good funding for a non profit company.

      Cons

      Lots of change with a new CEO that should help the company because there was a toxic work environment in many departments and the old CEO let it happen.
