Pros

Good work life balance compared to big tech companies.

Cons

The company does not value its software engineers at all. Science is first and SWE is secondary to management and this has not changed in years. This is reflected in low pay and low freedom given to engineers in their work. You will also stunt your growth as a SWE here. In my time at this role I have developed minimally as a SWE while working on menial projects while my peers have exponentially grown as engineers at legit tech companies.

Pros

Nothing to share here, sorry

Cons

- Toxic management, employees actively unionizing. - Low compensation as the non-profit simply has no revenue. - Low budget = difficult to attract/retain talent = extremely conservative work culture targeting low-risk, low-impact projects.
