Pros

You will learn from some of the top advisors in the country who manage multi-million / billion-dollar business books. It is a rigorous and challenging environment, but you will learn a lot from them. It also has a great training program for associates that allows you to learn a lot before you start participating in the teams.

Cons

Pay is structured as a tier system Tier 3 being the lowest and Tier 1 being the highest. In San Diego (Tier 2) where the cost of living has gotten incredibly high, the pay is not enough, especially for the work an associate has to do. I also think management can improve and promote people with proper managerial experience. I felt like the associates' manager didn't have enough experience to handle situations with empathy or understanding. It was more binary and black and white.

Pros

No pros of working here.

Cons

Everyone is miserable. Micromanagement from the top. Rob McWilliams is so out of touch with day to day operations. So many “VPs” that can barely write a coherent email. No wonder the technology is so dated. Run!

Pros

Solid pay, decent security, career guidance, flat organization

Cons

Managerial oversight divorced from pay, hiring, bonus, and time-off allotments. Career guidance often at expense of work-life balance. Preference given to those who will kiss the feet of managers and hyper-competitive spirit.
