Pros

A job that pays well.

Cons

Security vehicle broke down every 2 or 3 months. We were told to use our personal vehicles with no financial reimbursement. Employees showing up to work with no uniform on at Vineland developmental center west campus Vineland nj 08360. Despite complaints to then supervisor Brian Wheeler and Mark Clements about officer not in uniform and smoking weed on the job. Nothing ever happened nor did they care as long as a body was on the work site.regional supervisor mark Clemments. Former Middlesex county Sgt prosecutors office. Was brought up on charges ( Google above info} in July 2009 for harassing under employees at prosecutor office via anonymous texts . Was likely told to retire or charges and termination would ensue. Like most police departments they allowed him to retire. He fired me because I cursed at him. Wow thought we were men. Plus he deserved it, I asked Mark Clements and Pete Gardner for FMLA paperwork via text. They said ok. I never received said paperwork. Employees wear hand cuffs carry mace and wear body cameras on duty which isn't allowed. But supervisor Brian Wheeler needed to carry his firearm on unarmed post at Vineland developmental center west campus which is closed facility. Yet others couldn't. How mark Clemments was permitted to be a supervisor based on criminal past charges from prosecutors office is mind blowing, Allied universal needs to do a better job of getting their supervisors and employees. Im glad I'm gone. I don't like hypocrisy.

Pros

Great learning experience, very competent local management. Great people, at least on the lower- to middle- end of the totem pole (don't know/never met the upper management). Very diverse company, and I have never felt excluded on the basis of any part of my identity.

Cons

I think that the upper levels of company/district management get so lost in the numbers that they forget that there are actual human beings working for them. I won't lie, I have met some of the best people in this company, but the senior management puts so much pressure on us little people that it will burn you out. That said, it is a very fast-paced environment and support is available - if you know where to find it.

Pros

Always looking for people to fill position. Jobs are available and hired quick to fill a spot. Fast training to get you out of the office and on the job site.

Cons

Constant changeover of employees at job site. No longevity. Not a career position. No sick time. No vacation. When training at the job site you are paid at minimum wage and not the rate if you worked the position. If you need to call in sick you have to be dead. Literally happened. Electronic employee handbook. Not easy to find. If you need to take time off for family you cannot take leave of absence with a month and half notice. You basically have to quit. You are replaceable. No chance for advancement. Was an Armed/Unarmed Security Officer for another company in another state. When told management I would like to earn Armed Security officer license for company was told it wont earn you more money than what the pay rate for the location I was assigned. However, waiting in employee lobby of new hires constantly see other handlers to other employees, "here call this guy he will help you get your level III." No positive reinforcement. Willing to write you up to protect contract of job site.
