Exciting young company with impressive growth
Great mentors to learn from
No micromanagement - plenty of room to be proactive
Great benefits with equity incentives available
Cons
Company priorities are very dynamic to respond to sudden customer demand / opportunity - need to be flexible and happy to pivot focus fast!
You’ll work on some really interesting projects along in a fast paced environment gaining experiences in multiple disciplines. The CEO from what interaction I have had shows to care about his employees on a deep level of which I respect his approach.
Cons
There’s a lot of very intelligent individuals from esteemed universities which has created a class system which stems from the very top of head of functions who lack the personal skills to communicate fairly but would rather scold an individual and make them feel small between the cliques they have created.
Alloyed is very much a your face must fit environment between these individuals. The work culture within alloyed will be what holds it back from moving forward and result in some sort of work place HR dispute in a tribunal.
There is no support within alloyed if you are not performing there is no conversation around what could be preventing you from achieving the required whether that be personal circumstances or bullying from within you are simply pulled to one side given a 3 months garden leave to never be seen again.
You will find yourself burnt out. Lacking the industrial experience to organise things correctly.

Hello there - this is Michael.
It's hard growing a business in this sector, but even with 160 colleagues, learning that any single one is unhappy is something I lose sleep over, and, with someone who's been here over three years - well, that's worse. As you're still with us, please do put your head above the parapet and discuss what we - I - should be doing better. I'd love to learn more, and promise it would be in confidence.
// Responsibility: I was trusted with project deliverables from day 1, even in my first year after graduation. A huge positive if you are ambitious and seek ownership of your work.
// Management: Fantastic support from managers and CEO. Sometimes great support has meant telling me what I could have done better, followed by a “well done” after I put in the work and made the improvement. I am grateful to have colleagues who challenge me to think deeply.
// Development: My career goals have been enabled. When I have been seeking a change or new challenge, an opportunity has been found, allowing me to grow.
// Achievements: Professional achievements and personal milestones have been celebrated by my colleagues in very genuine ways throughout my time at Alloyed. I do not doubt the deep level of care my peers and managers have for me and my career.
// Customers: Alloyed’s customer list is comprised of the biggest and best companies in the world. It is something I feel proud to have been part of building.
// Diversity: Whilst it is quite typical for an engineering company to have < 50% female staff, I can say with confidence that 99% of my male colleagues have never treated me differently.
