Pros

- You can create your own schedule and update it every three months - If you work in a home setting, you may get lucky and have an amazing team by your side depending on who the assigned BCBA is

Cons

- Pay is NOT enough for what Direct Interventionists deal with daily- hardly any opportunities to obtain a raise - Paid mileage and drive time only apply if you drive from one session to another. If you work in only a school setting with one client, your drive time will not be paid for regardless of how far and frequently you have to drive Monday-Friday. - "Trainings" were YouTube videos and fill-in-the-blank worksheets. ASI throws you into the field without proper knowledge. It is basically a "teach yourself" job. - If you are contracted to work through a school setting, you are better off working for the school district as their DI. You will never hear from the actual ASI office. If I needed support, I got it through the school district's ABA Leads that come to check in on us occasionally. - Working in this field is not easy. Feeling like you are undervalued and unsupported by the company you work for will cause you to burn out quickly.
