Pros

AlphaSights teaches you basic business communication, sales, and customer service. It's a decent starting place for anyone who doesn't know exactly what they want to do. It teaches people how to do a lot of menial tasks on a super tight timeline. It's also fun to start your career with a "cohort" of people right out of college. Easy relationship building is definitely important.

Cons

The 8am-6pm hours are untenable. You can't find a single person at AlphaSights who are content with their free time outside of work (except maybe the VPs who are basically just managing managers). There is 100% pressure to work past 6pm because our clients are online at that time. But AlphaSights doesn't pay people like they work at a hedge fund or a consulting firm. The vibe at AlphaSights is just people who are sticking around waiting to see who quits around them. The leadership at AlphaSights are just people who were promoted at AlphaSights and have no other experience in other roles. That creates an echo chamber and people who are just promoted for being nice to their bosses. There is very little real leadership to speak of and most people hired were interviewed by unqualified leaders. Also, definitely some sketchy behavior by the most leadership at company-wide events. TLDR: pay people more if you want them to work hard. Don't work kids out of college until they quit with the promise of a "manager" title, which is a 24/7 customer service associate role
