Pros

- decent starter job post grad with ok salary, most of compensation is based on bonuses from meeting monthly quota - offers experience for account executive/sales/bus devolopment roles, great foundation for beginners to transition to higher paying roles elsewhere - if you excel, there is a direct pipeline to become an account manager and gain management experience early on

Cons

- as this is a sales role where monthly quotas need to be met, there isn't much work life balance - if you're assigned projects with clients in asia or europe, expect to be up late or get up very early with no compensation for overtime - the daily tasks can get monotonous very quickly - it's a revolving door where most people leave after their first yr

Pros

My manager and VP are amazing, the turnover for associates is high, but if you have the ability to take in a difficult learning curve in first 3 months, you will thrive

Cons

client demands, a lot of performance incentives are sometimes out of your direct control

Pros

AlphaSights is a unique career stone in that while many other companies employ recent college graduates for early-career opportunities, few of them invest the time and resources into empowering young adults to be successful far after they leave. In most workplaces, being an early-career hire typically means you will be squeezed for value, and the hunger and energy that comes with being in a first job can be exploited. AlphaSights' leadership are genuinely invested in seeing their team members take on challenging situations before ultimately climbing the ladder within the company or moving into other roles – and they take measures to ensure colleagues are learning and growing through the role. While you're of course expected to deliver value and very little is handed to you, I personally saw first-hand how most colleagues were part of a collective mission to see one another get better. This is hard to explain without it sounding like an inflated review, so as an example: right as I was leaving, AlphaSights rolled out their MBA sponsorship program, wherein they provide tuition support for departing employees to receive an MBA from a top-25 global business school. There are no strings attached, and no obligation to come back. Do with that what you will, but to me it shows commitment to supporting those who are invested in AlphaSights' success and in their own career development.

Cons

While the pros sound great, it does come with the need to sacrifice time and personal satisfaction for career success. The day-to-day is certainly not easy, and especially for recent graduates, it can be stressful and conflicting. The "worthiness" of grinding at a job like this ebbs and flows, but it comes down to understanding the mindset shift that is required to succeed (which is much easier said than done) and then making the effort (also much harder than it seems) to adopt and adapt to that mindset.
