Pros

There used to be several and no they are next to none.

Cons

I've been with this company for quite some time now. Most people leave within a year or so, so I consider myself a veteran here. When I first started times for the company where good. Growing like crazy, making money, etc. You really felt at home amongst everyone in the company including owners. They would send flowers to stores , send out inspirational emails, I mean you just felt the good. Now with sales decreasing, the revolving door of employees swinging harder and expectations becoming increasingly un realistic , that onceven good feeling is gone. We are given more tasks than possible to do but told to focus on guest. However we get told how the tasks need to be done... how ? Payroll hours have been cut drastically to the point where salary managers literally work with no break because we can't have anyone come in. Then we get scolded for no break. Truth be told we salary managers make no were near other retailers in compensation. Then if you need insurance be prepared to pay out big money from your small check. I used to love this company but now I just am baffled as to what we're doing . It's like they completely forgot who theyes said they wanted to be. They purchased an expensive training program that we all dislike now because of instead of being fun it's forced on us daily. Even my leaders don't use the training... "so what your telling me is the training is irrelevant and we have lost our way. "

Pros

I was able to really connect with my personal clients and help them find great outfits! My coworkers were ok didn't have a lot of drama.

Cons

Where do I even begin? I honestly can say this is the worst job I have ever had. They DO NOT CARE about the EMPLOYEES!! They will over work you until you want to quit. They will use the love you have for selling, visuals and customer service against you! Everything they tell you to do is for "her" and "her experience" but they neglect "us" and "our team" in the stores.

Pros

Working at Altar'd State has brought me so many new friendships and I am forever thankful for that. My team and managers are great and they try their best to make us happy.

Cons

Where do I even begin.... I was hired on as a Brand Rep in beginning of April of 2014. I have been here for over a year and STILL have not received a raise (currently making 7.25). I used to balance 2 jobs and high school. And let me tell you, Altard State ALWAYS came first. I loved what the company was about. (emphasis on "was") When I was hired on, I was told they do 6 month evaluations (don't let them fool you, THEY DONT). I worked my butt off, and was even made a captain of a section. Let me remind you, i was 17 and balancing all of this out, I would stay past my shift to make sure stuff got done, and even came in for the 5am floor set the morning after Christmas. The company even considered staying open on thanksgiving... This company says they are all about faith and giving back, well how about you care for the employees who got you where you are. The turnover rate is horrendous, nobody wants to work hard all for nothing. After about 8 months, I decided to take matters into my own hands, I emailed the district manager, what a surprise, no response. This company only worries about their new 3 million dollar stores and totally forgets about the "old ones". They constantly take our mangers out and send them to the new stores for weeks at a time. It's heartbreaking to think so highly of a store and now think so poorly of it. The cleaning lists don't ever end, how about you pay us for what we are worth?? Oh crap, I forgot, too busy on their charter plane.
