      How the mediocre have fallen

      Some teams were fantastic and trying

      Alteryx was a company that outgrew its management, so they covered their ineptitude by only hiring other executives that didn't know better, eventually leading to being bought out by a PE firm that has killed off most development. Right now they are just cutting costs to look great on paper so they can pass it off as an AI company and sell it to some chump in a year or two. Their strategy is assuming nobody will be able to move off their platform between now and the eventual sale.

      They talk culture but it's not what you're sold in the interview process

      There are a lot of good people here but we're all getting caught up in the white-wash of this transition period.

      Cons

      My boss is the most micro-managing manger I've ever worked for. Other managers run their teams completely different and folks on my team find themselves working evenings, some of weekends, etc due to their demands. Just 4 months into having my accounts my manager has already begun writing HR type emails to hit a weekly number that one one else in the company is hitting. It's an enterprise sale role but managed like it's transactional/SMB. They say you quite your boss, not the job and this couldn't be more true.

      Dumpster Fire - I would look at 5 start ratings with EXTREME CAUTION

      Not a lot, the product was good and they have some long term customers that are fanatics and would be lost without Alteryx.

      Cons

      Management and culture were horrendous. I have seen some of the new hires in leadership position and I hope they are able to come in change things up. The amount of gossip and backbiting was enough to exhaust anyone that works there. HR was a big concern for everyone when I was there. The HR team should be the people you go to with trust and confidence and they were actually the facilitators of the nonsense that you would see day in and day out. They were some of the least genuine and least professional people I have ever worked with, including the Sr. Directors, Director and Sr. Managers. I hope with these changes at the top that you take strong look at those people a level or two below the C-Suite. You have some fantastic people who work there and you should feel lucky that you were as successful as you were with those people in place. Hopefully you are able to clean house and right the direction of the ship.

On behalf of the leadership team, please accept my apology for what sounds like it was a very uncharacteristic associate experience. While I've only been with the company a few months, the HR team are among the hardest-working colleagues I've worked with in my career; I'm sorry that you felt unsupported when it sounds like you needed us most. I'm glad that you have a positive perspective ons some of the recent leaders who have joined the company. We're focused on building on the strong foundation that the founders and so many fantastic colleagues have laid for the company over the past two decades. While the leadership team and employees of any company will evolve over time, I know I speak for my executive colleagues when I say that our commitment to being a values-based company will remain a focal point for our work.
