Too bad

Pros

People, pay and product. A once fast moving, high potential rocket ship, has become a politically poisoned was poor senior leadership hires.

Cons

Layoffs of long time employees with institutional knowledge. Senior leadership too busy making things look pretty, instead of getting their hands dirty and learning the unique nuances of the business. A once amazing culture now marred by trauma and fear and frustration.

Pros

Can't even begin to say how great my coworkers are at this company. I absolutely love everyone, from my direct managers to fellow SDRs. You all rock

Cons

The SDR org here is, for lack of better words, the armpit of Alteryx. When I say there is no opportunity to grow and get promoted, I mean there really is no path for promotion into an AE role. Doesn't matter how tenured you are, or how often you've exceeded quota, you WILL NOT get promoted to an Account Executive role since the Emerging sales team was completely laid off. In addition, the quotas were set to become virtually unattainable along with reorgs/team shifts all throughout the half. I believe only one SDR has hit quota in all honesty. Communication with upper management outside of our direct managers feels incredibly vertical. The reality is, the SDR team isn't a priority when the rest of the company is struggling, and the changes that need to be made are reflective of years of issues that have been neglected even outside the SDR org. The real change requires resources and help from the sales team (for some reason, SDRs are now in the marketing department here instead of sales) to prepare and evaluate our readiness for an AE role. These factors have deflated the entire team's morale. It's impossible to maintain a culture and motivate your team to prospect for a number that can't be hit, or for a position you'll never get.
