Pros

Good pay and benefits if you last.

Cons

Basically the entire workforce including the plant manager are Spanish speaking. My training went horrible because I don't speak Spanish. And I was let go at my 60-day review for two mistakes I made only one time, it was even mentioned at my review that they only heard of me making these mistakes once but I still had to be let go. One mistake being using a pen knife to open skids of boxes (5 seconds after someone saw me with the pen knife the plant manager came and gave me a pair of scissors and says here we use those. A week later I was called to HR and told that she heard I was using a knife and I'm not supposed to do that. Two weeks after that I was called to HR again and told that someone had called corporate and told them I had a knife. Like that doesn't seem like someone targeting me) I never brought my knife again after the one day, as was told not to. Infraction #2 was from my first week. I opened a door with an interlock that stops the machine and pulled a jammed bottle out with my hand. I was proceeded to be told I'm not allowed to do that it's unsafe even though the door had an interlock. Never made that mistake again. Both were cited as reasons for my termination. The facility is incredibly hot no air conditioning or exhaust fans. Machine operator means, sweep the floor, break down empty boxes of material, shovel partial boxes of material into one another, drag boxes of material to and from the warehouse on a hand pallet jack, climb a ladder and use a plastic rod to jam down inside a clogged grinder to try and free the clog, watch blenders, basically troubleshoot everything on your own because if there's a problem you can't find someone. And this is all while you are supposed to be watching 3 blow molding machines. They also expect you to work 4 extra hours anytime they ask and they ask you right is your shift is up but want you to stay from four more hours. On top of them expecting you to make yourself available any Saturday or Sunday that they decide they want you to come in to clean the plant or paint the forklifts or paint lines in the parking lot or basically anything they want you to.
