Pros

Global company with strong brand recognition. Opportunities to work on international projects. Some talented colleagues who care about their work.

Cons

Recent layoffs were handled unfairly and without transparency. Lack of support for employees going through medical or personal difficulties. Management avoids accountability and communication feels top-down. Innovation is discussed but rarely implemented in practice. Work-life balance varies by team and manager.

Pros

- Good work/life balance - Incredible knowledge base of employees - Good benefits at reasonable costs - Flexible management style - Many US employees with 20+ years of service - Free/subsidized snacks in the office

Cons

- Terrible onboarding process - WAY too many logons to remember - Too many cooks in the kitchen. When we have a conference call, there's maybe 2-3 client employees and 10+ Amadeus ones, it's ridiculous and leads to frustrated clients down the line. - Very European-oriented company so the focus gets lost outside of that region, to an extent

Pros

Lots of people that are helpful and generally nice to work with on a daily basis. Good family events. Benefits are good. Basic bonus plan.

Cons

Middle to upper management leadership doesn't have much interest in changing the status quo processes though there is talk of change. For a small division, I was always surprised that the CEO and senior leadership didn't spend much time getting to know employees. Quarterly meeting communications, yet that was pretty much the only time any corporate strategy was discussed and the middle management team had little information on how it impacted a team. Very top down management styles. Product - quality is so so, utilizing outdated technologies and processes, lacking vision by dev managers, command and control environment. Not surprised they got bought as investment was sorely needed in outdated products. Departments are very siloed and sharing of employees' knowledge to improve the business is not encouraged. Lots of lifers that don't have any way of advancing their career (unless you are very junior) and again managers talk of opportunity. Witnessed some unprofessionalism by employees towards coworkers. Pay is not competitive, 20-30% below the market even with the bonus. Development staff is paid close to market yet every other team is underpaid significantly and regularly voice the opinions. Despite all you read, the culture is great for the old timers but not for people that are trying to make a difference and bring the company out of the dark ages.
