Pros

* Good compensation * You can chalk out things to learn, there are teams for almost everything. * State of the art technology in place. * You can learn good leadership principles that you can still utilise post leaving Amazon. It is a good learning experience - mainly non-technical.

Cons

* You don't get to see at a very low-level on how things work. * The above is true for both technology and business aspects. * Uneven distribution of work at times. * Office politics but it is largely dependent on the team you are in. There are some amazing teams with good management and there are teams with a mix of good and bad. * Not all teams operate upto the high bar of Amazon. Imbalance between the bars maintained by different orgs. * Good compensation but no luxurious benefits like other FAANG companies.

Pros

* Ownership of your product/charter * Chance to do a big impact as a single contributor * 2 Pizza teams seem like a perfect balance between startup culture and big, corporate impact

Cons

* Unclear promotion/career paths * Sometimes internal tooling is a bit clunky * Although you always solve problems at scale, It feels like a lot of the true innovation is happening in the US
