Pros

Within the AWS section of Amazon in Dublin, and specifically within the Support area there is a very open nature about the team. You can try, learn or pursue pretty much what you want if it aligns with your long term career goals you discuss with management. Management are engaged often, and in direct areas. You ask what you want from them during regular meetings, rather than the other way around. Amazon always encourages self-driven career growth, so you can work as quick as you like at your own pace. This can be a benefit or not, as it means if you want something you need to do the work yourself for it, and won't be promoted or given anything unless you build it, create it, do it yourself. The position creates a great place to learn though, and you'll quickly find yourself in demand after a short time here

Cons

Part of being able to learn so much so quickly, and do what you want means that you are often left with a feeling of not knowing what to do next. It's difficult to find something to work on next, because of the choices available and this can lead to leaving the team for other areas within AWS.

Pros

Amazon is a big company and works with leading technology, so being part of that is really nice. Also, it provides you access to technologies and general knowledge about AWS that will be fundamental and very required on the marked. Hard work is recognized and rewarded most of the time and this ia very good motivation to keep improving yourself and doing a better job.

Cons

As a big company, if you not make yourself noted, you will not be noted. So if you want to grow and develop yourself inside the company, you need to be vocal and make yourself be heard and recognized. Also, as a big company, some times you get faced with a "status quo" that exists for some reason and when you look from outside it makes no sense and just makes things less efficient or more lengthly. But after learning how to navigate around those issues, it becomes easier.
