I loved working at Amazon, and then they fired me
Pros
Amazon was a great employer once, it had huge benefits, opportunities to grow from the bottom (customer service) work life balance. Unfortunately, I don't think that's there anymore
Cons
Management tends to be really closed off. Honestly, just think the company's priorities changed, they no longer care for the worker that has been with them for 10+ years. They just care to turn revenue with implementing automatization and throwing away employees as if they don't matter instead of trying to reposition them elsewhere. Plus if you are trying to get in an HR position now it's not like before that you could grow into it or apply from outside and get a sign on bonus. They don't care about their talent. Now you are offered a temporary position where you would need to prove that your worth keeping. And even if you do, they could still close the department in the end and all the effort you put into your temporary contract for 2 years will not matter.
