Pros

Great team's with lots of support. Everyone genuinely behaves like an owner

Cons

High turnover and ambiguity. Highly demanding job with senior leadership having unrealistic expectations in the name of setting a high standard bar.

Pros

AWS still operates like a relatively small company, with lots of leeway for people to think in most areas. Pay is really good and the atmosphere is collaborative. Moving around and having a "choose your own adventure" style career is really doable.

Cons

Amazon's Leadership Principles are all the rage and people will throw them out if they don't have good ideas in order to beat back resistance. They're starting to implement non-productive bureaucracy as they deal with increased scope while trying to avoid actual bureaucracy.
