Pros

They live by their tenets, customer obsession is not a vain word. Engineers are really smart and proactive. 100% remote working works well for me, teams were supportive and involving. Compensation & benefits are good, up to the major tech companies standards. You get real freedom of speech if you can back your opinions with data. Feedback from management is direct and honest.

Cons

Everything is either half-finished or on its way to deprecation, so you need to accept organized chaos. It can be overwhelming to find information at first, especially when working remotely. You need to be autonomous, they expect you to be your own manager. If you need constant directions and feedback from management, better find another company.

Pros

Always Day One !! Great organization, Amazing colleagues ! There is plenty to learn every day & I am saying this with 20+ plus experience already under my belt. The leadership team is absolutely inspiring. You are empowered to make key decisions. There are a number of communities who can help you with various things you are interested. eg AWS Certification , Beta testing of products and devices. One of the striking feature is super flexibility around "Internal Movement" within various Amazon organization and across various geographies. You can create your own path based on your career aspirations. You can actually spend your whole life in Amazon and still do new and interesting work by switching teams every few years. Five Star !!

Cons

Perks are not much different to any other organization. Pension match is 1:1 and employer doesn't contribute double the share.

Pros

I love the way I have time to onboard and how all of the training and tutorials set you up for success. This company is rumored to be a sweat shop where you are overworked. The truth is that if you allow teams to work you to the bone than it will happen. However, during the onboarding you are trained and mentored on the "way to work" from day 1 on how to keep this from happening! I am only in my second month but have full confidence in my role on my team as well as expectations. I know I will be extremely happy hear for as long as I choose to be. That is the other benefit. The career growth is unparalleled and it does not matter if you have been at your position for six months or six years. If you want to make a move, you are encouraged and empowered to do so.

Cons

Although I consider it a Pro, Amazon's peculiar way of working can be overwhelming to some and its not for everyone. If you are not able to "buy in" this may not be the company for you.
