Pros

New opportunities and the chance to work with smart people

Cons

Lack of leadership and professional support or development. Bully mentality of senior management as the "right way" to get things done. Being cost effective and frugal is one thing - being stinking cheap is another.

Pros

Ability to lead initiatives since management ranks are lean.

Cons

Amazon at its top S-Team level is a good ol boys club - all ivy league, male, and white - and promotions seem to follow that trend. Management actually isn't all that impressive aside from Jeff Bezos and a couple others. People are also so jaded that communication and proactivity are abysmal. Catalysts for growth are few, given worries about sales tax nexus, decline of core hard media goods, and inability to grow well into non-media verticals.
