Pros

WELL KNOWN, STARTUP COMPANY. A PRESTEGOUS IMAGE. EXCELLENT FOOD SERVICE. SEEM TO BE HIRING LOTS OF PEOPLE

Cons

SENIOR MANAGEMENT SEEMS TEMPRAMENTAL AND SOMEWHAT POMPUS. VERY QUICK TO POINT OUT MISTAKES AND TO THROW HISSY FITS WHEN MISTAKES ARE MADE. MANAGEMENT APPEARS TO FIRE PERSONEL QUICKLY AND HAS 20-100 PEOPLE REPORTING TO NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION EACH WEEK. DOES THAT MEAN THAT 20-100 EMPLOYEES ARE FIRED EACH WEEK?

Pros

Working at Amazon exposes you to a unique work environment. Coworkers are some of the best I've ever had. You get to work for a company where you know you are impacting the way people purchase products on the internet.

Cons

Benefits lacking, management entrenchment, and a homogenized work environment that does not value diversity. Poor code quality, and little desire to change that within the organization. You have to carry a pager and expect to be on the hook for tasks that are not traditionally part of your job description, i.e. production operations support, because there is not an operations team, for instance.
