Pros

Amcor is a great company to work for. You get a company, in spite of its core business being somewhat harmful to the environment, that focuses heavily on sustainability and ways to make its packaging more environmentally friendly. Furthermore, it's a company that respects diversity within its chain of command.

Cons

I'd say the main con is that you can find very different styles of leadership within the company, some of which can't even be considered leadership, but just "bossing". If you enter Amcor and are paired up with a manager that really takes interest in developing you, then you are in for a great experience. If you are paired with a boss instead of a leader, whose agenda is solely to make him/herself look good - and there are some in there - then you will have a tough ride ahead.

Pros

When there was work, the overtime was there. Management seemed decent from the short time I worked there.

Cons

Most of the maintenance department spoke only Spanish to each other, making me and the other non-Spanish speaking workers, the outcasts.

Pros

I have been working at the Amcor Columbus site for some time now, and I must say, it has gone from a terrible, abusive, employee-hating environment to a nice place to work that I hope to work at until retirement. They recently ditched a miserable plant manager and brought back a good one that actually treats the employees with respect, unlike the previous manager who would say things like “do as I stay, or you can go live on the streets with no income and your family can starve.” We would be making safety recommendations to him or process improvement recommendations but would get retaliated against and screamed at so no one spoke up about anything for fear of getting fired, regardless if our life was at risk due to a safety hazard. I must say though that the place has turned around and has been great since corporate brought back the friendly plant manager and got rid of the arrogant bully manager. With that, I plan to work here as long as they keep the people-friendly plant manager. Not once has he told us our families can starve like the other guy or that product output is more important than employee safety. He actually cares which is great.

Cons

It is very hot in the building. It would be amazing if there would be some better air conditioning.
