While AEP has its flaws, I've worked at several companies, and I appreciate that AEP listens to employee feedback and considers it. This doesn't guarantee that the company will implement every suggestion, but the willingness to listen is increasingly rare today. In my department, the average tenure exceeds 10 years, which is significant. Additionally, it's uncommon for companies to offer both a 401(k) and a pension plan nowadays. I believe that many individuals leaving negative reviews may not have experience outside of AEP and may not fully comprehend the challenges and uncertainties most businesses encounter. In comparison to what many others face, AEP's situation is relatively favorable.

Cons

While AEP listens to employee feedback, there is no guarantee that the company will act on it, which may lead to frustration among employees who feel their suggestions are not being implement.

Great coworkers and benefits are good. Not must else as of late.

Cons

Avoid unless you have no other options!! Use to be a great place to work. New CEO rules with absolute power! Either people around him are too scared to speak up or he does not care what anyone else thinks. Only thing that matters is Wall Street and company stock price. There has been a series of bad decisions that has the company morel at an all time low. Company paid a lot of the experience employees to leave or retire. Constant musical chairs with leadership never know how long people will stay in their roles. Recently downsized management demoting a lot of supervisors and managers. Bonuses are not what they use to be, getting smaller and smaller each year. Refuses to adjust pay based on the current market. And to add the cherry on top a mandatory 5 days RTO for all of the work staff. Employees concerns go unanswered by the CEO and board. A ton of lip service but no real actions. A lot of good people are leaving and they will not be replaced leaving the rest to pick up the work. CEO and the board are out of touch with reality and they are running the company into the ground!
