Pros

Smart people, willingness to innovate, and the chance to move into a new role after 1.5 years. Employees tend to stay at Amex, once they make it past the 3 year mark.

Cons

Delays with project approval, formal corporate culture, lack of opportunites for Sr. Managers to be promoted to Director.

Pros

American Express rewards employees based on performance and abilities. Their training program is exceptional and they treat employees with respect.

Cons

One must be able to tolerate a cube environment. Areas such as the telephone centers are continually buzzing with conversations and there is little room for privacy.
