Pros

Committed to excellent customer satisfaction, eroding, but better than average benefits suite, including tuition reimbursement, company matching 401K options, profit sharing, good culture, business casual dress code, and room for all sorts of lateral movements. You get bored or feel like you are 'maxed out" in a role, move on ad learn something new.

Cons

Several reductions in force over the years, and have now closed operating center in North Carolina, or I'd probably still be there. A little less than stellar salaries, but I made conscious trade-offs there due seniority and vacation to be fair.

Pros

Smart, motivated people who are great to work with. My co-workers became some of my best friends. Excellent work life balance which is rare in New York City. Overall, an excellent work culture.

Cons

Things move slowly so can become boring. Was too structured for me. Career advancement is limited right now. Compensation is on the low side. Fierce competition right now so more organizational changes may be coming soon.

Pros

-Very competitive salary -Excellent benefits - 7 weeks paid vacation after 5 yrs! -On site nurse practitioner... no wasted time going to doctors... just go downstairs and they will write you a prescription if needed -A lot of room to go grow if you work hard -Tuition reimbursement- 100% up to $5k a year (if you go to work full time and school part time you can pretty much finish school with no debt) (must be a degree that can be used at Amex

Cons

-If you work in customer facing roles or manage the people in customer facing roles you go through shift bids sometimes every 6 months... can't really get used to the schedule you're on which can be good or bad depending how you feel about your schedule. I prefer having consistency. -As a Customer Care Professional it is a very stressful job and you are constantly worried about making your numbers and making mistakes.
