Pros

The starting pay was decent. Work hours were somewhat flexible. Very clear path for advancement.

Cons

Terrible work environment; Endless sea of cubicles - all colored gray, very little respect for employees. The benefits are laughable.

Pros

Overall a great company to work for. They are established and have decent benefits. Depending upon the area you work in, you don't have coworkers, you have extended family. Even through tough economic times, pay increases were still given. There have been no mass layoffs. If employee count goes down, it is by attrition.

Cons

Those division lead by the parent company in Galveston, TX have mandates handed down to them. It does not matter what worked before in the Springfield or Albany locations, process will be changed to satisfy the leadership in Texas. This has lead to vast inefficiencies, chaos, and confusion in those areas. Also, having to evaluate on a bell curve at performance review time is archaic. So, people cannot be rated on how they truly do their job, evaluations have to fit into certain percentages. If a manager has worked hard to get a team of really exceptional people, it won't matter. Evaluations have to have some evaluated as just meeting expectations and some that need improvements regardless of their actual performance.
