This is an unstable company with very poor managment

Pros

compensation was low, but not completely out of line for the work required

Cons

This is a company with a recognized brand name, but highly unstable financials. The company has been divided up, bought and sold repeatedly and there is no guarantee of employment from month the month. The culture encourages backstabbing of employees among themselves, and the management is totally distrustful on employees. This makes working at the company a living hell. Do not even think for a minute about working for this company.

Pros

Commission structure is decent, but only if you get appointments. You have to hit a certain number in sales to get paid well.

Cons

You can go weeks without appointments. Management will promise over and over that leads are slow, but they are making changes and it will get better soon. They don't care that you have bills to pay and a family to feed. They will let you suffer, and then fill you with false promises. Do not believe them when they say appointments will increase! If they promise you 8-10 appointments per week, you can expect maybe 1, sometimes 2. In the eight months I was with them, the most appointments I had in one week was 4. And that was only one week. Completely impossible to hit bonus commission goals without appointments. I would not recommend American Standard to my worst enemy. Also had multiple install problems with customers left hanging for weeks at a time. I could have made more money working at Walmart.
