Pros

A decent small business culture . The company has a lot of potential but just does not seem to anxious to grow organically.

Cons

HR is not very knowledgeable or reactive . It appears they work under no leadership or guidance . They are completely disorganized and do not understand the Government contracting industry. Company seems complacent and still seems to grow by being a subcontractor versus a PRIME. If it were not for the Test and Evaluation group, American Systems would probably only have one or two prime contracts total. Company has no real growth strategy except to acquire other businesses since they can not win large contracts.

Everyone is trying to do their own thing in the corporate office. There is no sense of teamwork or trying to improve as a company, everyone is looking out for their own department.

The company is employee owned through ESOP. If you stay with the company more than five years, you will have fully vested shares.

Cons

The company HR folks in Chantilly, VA seem to take a week to fix personnel things that could be fixed in one day.
