Lifechanging opportunity to work in a mission driven organization with a caring culture.

Pros

Working together with the staff - a group of collegial, educated, passionate and mission driven men and women. Educational and rewarding opportunity to learn about global public health. First hand experience traveling to the developing world to witness the challenges faced by victims of natural and manmade disasters was lifechanging.

Cons

Professional growth and development is challenging in an enviroment where staff wear many hats and have limited time to think strategically or develop plans that would create more efficiencies to get the day to day work done.

Pros

Warm, supportive company culture that is consciously cultivated. Excellent work-life balance. Lots of interesting opportunities given to relatively junior staff. Mission-driven.

Cons

Limited upward mobility--many people stay in the same role for several years and do not have opportunities for advancement. Pay is not great. Very meeting-heavy culture--sometimes we would have meetings about planning our next meeting, which could be frustrating.

The energy level and passion in what they do.

However great their mission, there are certain people who should not be where they are due to the lack of either people skills, knowledge in the field, or management skills.
