Overall, a really good job (Woodlands Location)
Pros
You do about the same work as you'd do in fast-food, but get paid SO much more, You get to drive nice cars (which eventually is not so exciting) and have interesting customer service stories to tell others (there's never a dull moment) You learn more about cars (like test driving luxury cars by parking them) They work with you when it comes to scheduling, All suggestions are welcome (unless your manager isn't likable) You lose weight, You learn how to tip decently, You also become the master of parking a car perfectly in-between the lines, Driving cars repeatedly can helps your driving ability, and makes you a better driver when it comes to reacting to situations (like dumb people crossing while texting, or kids running out in front of you) Crappy co-workers will eventually get fired (and we all park cars happily ever after) If you're a hard worker with integrity and you mess up, your supervisor will have your back, You make good friends If you bust your butt, you'll rise quickly
Cons
You learn how rude people can be (especially the complementary parkers) People can't read a sign that says "Do not enter, Valet only" and they always want to argue or negotiate with you. It's pathetic. Even though you may have worked at your location for a long time, the possibility of getting a new manager that treats you like they just pulled you out from under a rock is likely, You can get stuck with a crappy manager (but eventually they do something stupid and disappear) People who have worked there longer than you (even a one month difference) will act like they are your God or Goddess If you are a bad worker with an attitude problem, don't appreciate your great job, and have bad hygiene, you won't last long, Sometimes people will leave diapers full of crap in their vehicle, and it will smell worse after fermentation in the summer sun. Sometimes you'll get cars that you want to park in Lake Woodlands, but can't. Sometimes you'll be asked to stay later than what your shift calls for, but the tips you make are amazing so don't decline. If you do complain about this job then you should probably go work in fast-food.
