Pros

Competitive Salary; Great Benefits; Flexible work schedule; Dedicated Co-workers

Cons

The transition after the buyout from Amgen has been challenging. Many key employees have left the company and very little process in place at the moment. Limited opportunities for advancement now.

Pros

Benefits, 401K, and easy job. This is a good and bad thing. If you are content in where you are. This is the place to be.

Cons

no room for movement at all. Must play the politics game and be good at it cuz there are people that can outwit you. HR services are for managers only and no internal movement process in place. Stuck forever unless you leave. Also, the more cuts they do, the worse it gets for you. 6 days a week working, calling all hours of the night, this leads to no time with family/marriage life or in regard to your health.

Pros

Terrific benefits and opportunities to learn. Generous vacation and holiday pay, and great 401K matching. Mature, successful company with opportunities to learn about biotech/pharma process from beginning to end.

Cons

Extremely silo-ed organization. Can be very difficult to have positive impact on or move a stagnant process or group. Company tended to discount employees' previous experience and opinions if the experience wasn't at Amgen -- though they like to hire experienced people from outside the company. Very top-down management style, not collaborative. Benefits are often referred to as the golden handcuffs.
