Pros

Great time off, great 401 k match, decent health insurance, goood manuracturing training program.

Cons

Terrible management, constant indecision, too much in the way of politics, good old boy network is in place with a friends of upper management filling all the middle management positions. People are very aggressive and a lot of the time for no good reason. If you are an easy going person, this is not the place for you. Management will constantly re-examine their decisions, and you will be asked to drop everything to take care of the newest top priority to the point where it will become a running joke. Management cares more about protecting their personal interests as opposed to doing what is best for the company.

Pros

Compensation is good: stock, stock options, good salary, bonus, and 2 weeks paid time off (4th July & Christmas). Nice campus environment, onsite gym, and cafeterias. Good access to resources.

Cons

It can be very hard to get promoted; too top heavy; can be bureaucratic. A lot of constant re-organizations; one year, had 6 bosses. Many senior management hires from outside the company have difficulty adjusting to Amgen culture and giving clear direction & goals, which affects staff.

Pros

Exciting cutting edge industry. Great benefits including good matching 401(k) package, stocks, bonus. Two week's vacation, a winter and summer shutdown. On-campus amenities like a nice workout facility, good cafeterias.

Cons

Red tape, things move slow at times. It has been difficult to assess the direction of the company over the past few years. This means layoffs and instability, but moral seems to be back up.
