Pros

It's a paycheck and you have benefits and a pretty nice $6M office.

Cons

Everything from the Leadership, fake DEI, lack of hiring those with disabilities, to the overworked, underpaid lifestyle. They just heap more and more and more. Combining 3 jobs into 1 and pausing hiring is not sustainable. No real career development after COVID.

Pros

Great dining experiences; both breakfast and lunch. The prep cooks rock! The amount of time off kicks butt! It's great to have every Christmas and 4th of July off - it sucks you have to use some of your personal or vacation time to take the time off, but whatever. The plant is closed, you should get the time off without having to dip into your personal stash. Just the same - it's pretty darn awesome to have guaranteed days off every year. You can actually make plans that you know won't be interrupted.

Cons

There isn't anything positive I can think of about the work environment. You're always stressed out wondering when the next big layoff is coming and is it your team/department. Not knowing whether you're on the chopping block or not over-rides anything positive there is to say about this company.

Fine company, low opportunity for growth, stay for 2 years then move on for a raise

Benefits are good (health insurance, 401k match, etc...) Dedicated to remote workers

Cons

Pay tends to be below industry average. No clear path to promotions or even interest from managers for promoting from within (many external hires for roles I was more that qualified for) Internal jobs you apply for (I applied for roughly 20) will just ghost you. I got no replies from every job except for one. I interviewed for 1 job out of the 20 or so I applied to and guess what, after the interviews, ghosted. I spend over a month trying to get a response from someone on whether or not I got that job. Honestly Amgen can be a great stop and is a respected company, but unless you are willing to wait 10 years to move up, better to just do 2-3 years then move on to another company.
