Pros

-Company has good benefits if you are someone with a family. -A good place to work at long term, and create a career. -The pay is average for the industry. -Overtime is typically always available, but not required. -Time off is generous. -I enjoy the 9-5, and only a few saturdays a year, works really well when having young kids at home. -Majority of supervisors genuinely care for you, and your place in the company.

Cons

Back when I was hired a while ago, it wasn't really mentioned in the initial interview how important sales were. it was mentioned that it would be required somewhat, but it's actually a large part of the job.

Pros

- Amica does occasional surveys with employees to find out what employees are happy about and not happy about. These surveys have resulted in multiple company-wide bonuses and pay raises to combat inflation and make themselves a more competitive employer in the industry - Very generous benefits package - An extremely forgiving time off policy. Management is very understanding that life happens. You have to be seriously unreliable to get fired for poor attendance. - Excellent managers. I can count the times on one hand that any manager has been too busy to help me with a problem. It doesn't matter if it's my manager, a different team's manager, or any level of management all the way up to the branch manager and beyond. They treat their employees with the utmost respect. It was obvious from day 1 that management is taught to lead with positive reinforcement. - Excellent coworkers as well. In a year and a half with the company, I haven't met a single employee I didn't like. - Fantastic work/life balance. - HOLIDAYS!!! There are, I believe, 14 skeleton crew holidays, in addition to the major holidays that many companies give you.. You work half and the other half you are off. But the holidays you do work, you also get an extra paid day off. And some holidays such as Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day, if you volunteer, you get exceptional bonus pay for working.

Cons

- It's still customer service in a call center, so there are some nasty callers. But Amica is second to none in taking care of their customers. I must get two, maybe three times as many compliments from customers as I do complaints. - There seems to be a fair amount of turnover which I just don't get. This has by far been the best career move I've ever made. - I've seen many complaints of the work load on Glassdoor. Maybe this is the case in other departments but it has not been my experience. I will say that sometimes the reward for good work is more work, but this seems to be the case at every employer. In the end, you just have to take it 1 call at a time. -Occasional Saturdays, but you can either work and get overtime, or take a day off during the week to offset the extra day
